Lorraine (Libby) Buch z”l was a longtime member of the Workers Circle, passed away in May 2019. Libby left the Workers Circle a generous bequest in her will that reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and celebrates her love of Yiddish, music, and Jewish culture. The legacy Libby left for the Workers Circle is celebrated with an annual Yiddish music concert named for her. This free concert features an exciting blend of Yiddish song, poetry, wit, and Klezmer music presented by our multi-talented staff and students from our Yiddish program and Trip to Yiddishland: Zisl Slepovitch, Dinele Slepovitch, Polina Shepherd (England), Svetlana Kundish (Germany), Tania Grinberg (Canada), Yasmin Garfunkel (Argentina), Daniel Kahn (Germany), Deborah Strauss and Jeff Warschauer, Mikhl Yashinsky, Cindy Paley, Psoi Korolenko, Motl Didner, Annie Cohen (France), Mai Li Pittard,  Sheva Zucker, Miri Koral, Adrianne Greenbaum, Josh Horowitz, Gustavo Emos & Clara Greif (Brazil), Tamara Micner (England); and more.

Texts in Yiddish and English translation will be provided and include poetry, readings, and song lyrics by Shimen Frug, Mark Warshawsky, Avrom Reisen, Morris Winchevsky, Dovid Eynhorn, H. Leyvick, Melech Ravitch, Dovid Hofshteyn, Esther Schumiacher, Y. Goykhberg, Beyle Schaechter-Gottesman, Moyshe Teyf and more.
