Our Jewish earth-based experiential education curriculum naturally lends itself

Eden Village Camp is offering you groundbreaking, farm to table and wilderness education in a supportive Jewish environment. Look for more detailed information about the spring curriculum on our website.

About Farm School:

Arrive as early as 11:30am. Program starts at 11:45am.

Whether planting trees, baking bread in an earth oven, sharing Jewish tales and midrashim around the fire, or packing Tzedakah boxes of homegrown produce for donation to a local food bank, students put ancient agricultural traditions into practice while participating in a vibrant earth based community.

On the farm, we learn about soil, seeds, compost, insects, animals, herbs, and fruit trees through the lense of Jewish traditions and cycles. In the woods, we learn about trees and practice our navigation and safety skills, while learning to build primitive shelters, track animals, and identify wild edibles. Art projects include printmaking, plant sketching, making costumes and paper mache shofars, and tons more!

Children 8 and older will have the opportunity to partake in an apprenticeship program where they will learn Farm to Table skills from seeding on our farm to cooking bread over a fire on the farm. They will also learn and engage in Jewish Farming concepts while helping build and glean from our Peah Food Pantry Garden.

Children 7 and younger will engage in our farm to table curriculum by learning the fundamentals of seeds and animal care. They will learn concepts of pollination, seed dispersal, and seed saving while also learning about animals through interacting with our chickens, goats and bees. Children will learn how to prepare salads and other basic kitchen projects utilizing farm produce that they harvest. All of this will be framed and taught through a Jewish lens by saying blessings, singing songs and learning about related Jewish concepts.

This program runs every Tuesday from September 3rd-September 24th.
