An Evening with Amy Goodman

Join New Voices Magazine for the keynote event of our annual Jewish Student Journalism Conference.

Amy Goodman is the host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program airing on over 1,400 public television and radio stations worldwide. She will be in conversation with Samuel Freedman, a professor of journalism at Columbia University, award-winning author, and former columnist at The New York Times.

After the conversation, stick around for a cocktail party featuring snacks by Gefilteria’s Liz Alpern, former New Voices publisher and co-author of The Gefilte Manifesto: New Recipes for Old World Jewish Foods.

You will be joining 30 student writers from campuses across the country, from UC Berkeley to Brown. They are reporters, artists, filmmakers, and podcasters, spending a weekend learning from each other and from professional journalists (from NPR, Jewish Currents, and other outlets).

Support the work of this next generation of Jewish journalists and thinkers by giving what you can!

New Voices is committed to providing training, mentorship, and a unique platform to young Jewish writers, especially Mizrahi and Sephardic Jews, queer/trans Jews, Jews of Color, and Jews with disabilities.
